For those of us who don’t regularly use these measurements, it can be hard to visualize how much and what kind of items fit into these spaces. Here’s what can fit in a 10 x 15 storage unit.

How Big is 10 x 15?

It might seem like 10 x 15 space isn’t much, but you have to remember that a storage unit isn’t meant to be lived in. You can stack things much higher than you would in your home (as long as they are secure and don’t risk injury) and put things in the middle of the storage unit.

A 10 x 15 unit is the same as 150 square feet of usable space.

What Fits in a 10 x 15 Storage Unit Space?

When packed correctly, you should be able to fit the furniture and belongings of a 2-bedroom apartment into a 10 x 15 storage unit. The furniture should be disassembled as much as possible and belongings packed in boxes or totes that are the same or similar size so that everything fits in evenly.

What Furniture Fits in a 10 x 15 Storage Unit Space?

Many people use storage units to store large or extra pieces of furniture. Some common furniture items that will fit in a 10 x 15 space include:

It’s best to rent a 10 x 20 space for most vehicle types. However, some compact cars can fit in a 10 x 15 unit. Be sure to measure the dimensions of your vehicle before renting a unit of this size.

Smaller vehicles, like motorcycles and ATVs, will fit in a 10 x 15 unit with plenty of spare room.

Is a 10 x 15 Storage Unit the Right Size for You?

There are many factors to consider before renting a 10 x 15 storage unit size.

First, consider the size of your house or office. It’s obviously unreasonable to think a four-bedroom house will fit in a 10 x 15 space.

Secondly, consider how you would like to access your belongings. If you are traveling overseas and access doesn’t matter, then you might be able to stuff your storage space to the gills. But, if you’re a small business owner or want easier access to seasonal items, then you should make sure you have pathways and easy access to your belongings. Even if all your possessions fit in a 10 x 15 space, a 10 x 20 storage unit may be easier in the long run.

Finally, consider the size of the furniture you are storing. A piano, a sectional couch, and a king-sized bed and mattress may not fit like you imagine in your head.
